According to a Banker magazine the bailouts could actually net the tax payer 30Bn, a far cry from the 850bn loss predicted by the gloom merchants.

So is vindication for Grondo and an end to Banker bashing in order ? No.

They still messed up big style and continue to carry on with their culture of not giving a stuff about the little guys as long as they keep getting their bonuses.
Sorry YMB?

Didn't the toxic assets get split off out of these banks to allow them to continue as going concerns?

Isn't this a bit like cutting a rotten apple in half throwing away the bad bit and saying - look what a bargain?

In any case the fact remains that letting the banks do what they liked with insufficient regulation was like letting a toddler loose in a sweetshop

The country is still dealing with the vomit
You are right jake those toxic debts remain and will in all probability never be cleared .
The Bankers Mag was referring to the non toxic parts. No doubt as a softener before they give out the next lot of bonuses .
