leprof, I don't think the first one is right either. You have given some great answers on this subject, and I agree with you that the first answer doesn't quite fit the clue. Another re-think on this one!

I have finally come up with what I think the answer might be, what do you think leprof?

turn sour = rous
festive season = christmas (tried to use fs in the anagram, then C for christmas x 2)

Answer as an anagram = Crocus
