Should men over a certain age, lets say 50, wear jeans. I'm of the opinion that at 50 its time to hang up the denim and wear a casual trouser. I just don't think men have the shape for it after that. i've been shot down in the office for suggesting this, does anyone agree?

my dad is in his 70s and I have never seen him in a pair of jeans (is a chino man). Cant imagine him wearing jeans now and feel it would be wrong of him to start somehow but really feel you cant put an age on these things - some people suit them some people don't regardless of age.

I'm still right. they shouldn't wear them. they might think they look good, but they don't. i'm starting a group....look out for it. It'll be a natioanl movement, people over 50 wearing jeans will be ridiculed in public. There will be a discussion in the commons, one day they may even vote to bring the compulsory denim retirement age up to 55, but i shall oppose it. Long live the revolution. :)
Ah, but we get more sensible as we get older and we don't wear things because they look good, but because they serve a purpose. And we will march against you! ;o)

(Only 15 years and you will have to throw your jeans away!!)

I like the jeans + jacket look.

=0)

Men over 50 should probably not wear thong trunks.

Not even Peter Stringfellow.

In fact ... ESPECIALLY not Peter Stringfellow !!!!
allday-you don't seem to be paying attention here...people of ALL ages have well and truly shot you down.Unfortunately-you are up against the baby-boomers.Now-if anyone knows about the revolution..we do!!
So----I suggest you give in-as I know you will one day...lol

Oh...and if it matters-I am coming up to 63-and still look good in size 12 skinny jeans. There is no way I would give them up. In fact-I think chinos, knee length skirts, and any other 'suitable' clothing is actually quite ageing.
This reminds me of the time when a youngster in our office declared that "older people shouldn't be allowed to win huge amounts on the lottery because they don't need it as much as young people with their whole lives ahead of them do!!!" They got shot down in flames too.

I would say jeans have been fashionable for at least 35 years doc. I had designer jeans by Calvin Klein and Gloria Vanderbilt....both quite trendy then.
