If anyone here is on FB with me, please know I have deleted my account for the time being. I have encountered quite a bit of drama there and found it is replacing "real time friendships" in a big way.

I am pleased to be back here on AB.

Has anyone else dropped FB? I am afraid i won't be able to stick to my guns as I miss it!

perhaps i'm missing something, or maybe it's because i simply don't understand how it works, but why be on facebook when you have the same friends in the flesh?
i come on this site to while away a bit of time, ask questions, hopefully give some answers, whatever, but i just fail to see the allure of a cyber space - facebook - to chat to people i already know.
i like to see my proper friends properly, face to face, or speak on the phone. what's the advantage of having those same people on facebook? i keep in touch with those from school, old work colleagues, etc., who i want to keep in touch with. there's a reason why i don't keep in touch with others, and them with me. we're simply not, and never have been, close friends.
explain please :)
It can be funny snagged....

And if you're really bored you can play games :-)
Play games? When I can go oggle some nubile young wench.>? No contest really is it...

ethan, That is my point exactly. In all seriousness, I am thrilled when my friends' children reach a milestone in their lives. Pick up the phone and tell me. I have had almost no face time with my 2 best girlfriends in the last 6 months. They say "Oh, we talk on FB all the time." Either they don't see my point or they are cooled towards the friendship.

Time will tell.
I have about 20 friends on FB an they are all genuine friends. A lot of them are old friends who have moved away - most of them abroad, and I can't afford to call them very often to keep in touch. I don't do the whole posting a status and sending out block news, I usually tend to chat to friends when we are both online. It's more like a conversation than sitting down to email and thinking 'what have I got to tell them?' and ending up with the standard, how are you, everyone here is fine etc. I do have my daughter and Mr mac on too though - mainly so I can send them cheeky messages while we are in the same room ;)
You get to share photos with all your friends and see what they are up to day to day. This way I can just stick up a photo and all my friends see without having to email everyone
I am on FB, mostly family and just a few friends, although there are one or two 'friends' that I'd like to faze out. I don't go on it regularly and can't think of much to say when I'm on it. Now of course I'll have to have a look-see to see if anyone has sent a message.
Am not on facebook

I'm an adult
↑ with no friends
LOL sara3
With real friends actually sara, not 'acquaintances' on a web page
oh c'mon, joeluke, feel the love ;o)
I also left Facebook. Best thing I've ever done.
no different to speaking to strangers on here joe
The average age of the FaceBook user is 33.
TRT how do you know I cannot depend on those 50 people?

As I say I choose people very carefully. I would class them as friends seeing as I don't have any close ones.

I have my friends on FB because most work away/live away/are family who are not in the country etc... I actually only joined because people I love moved away.
Saw you'd gone off my friends list. See you when you come back.
