1. LAX is the code for Los Angeles airport and also the Swedish word for 'salmon'.

5 is also LAX. Another word for 'pivot' is 'axle'. Remove the 'E' for the key of E in music and mix the remaining letters for 'LAX'.
I thought for a while that I was supposed to be looking for two different LA airports.

stay with it quizmonster, I've been struggling with these last few clues for a couple of weeks
2. Parryville is a town in Pennsylvania, so relatively near Philadelphia. As in fencing, 'parry' means to turn aside a thrust and 'ville' is, of course the word for 'town' in French.

Are you sure you didn't set this quiz, Quizmonster
I'm struggling with the remaining two at the moment, Olivia, so I'll have to leave them for today. I hope someone with better local knowledge comes along to help.
