It'll be fine. They give you 5 days I think.
I believe that your tax will expire at midnight tonight, so I would recommend getting your new disc today.
Even if the 5 days grace is true, you can still be fined for not displaying a valid tax disc, which is exactly what happened to a friend of mine recently. They got a fixed penalty, but I cannot recall how much it was.

just spoke to dvla they are the worst call centre ever, any way never mind they said its taxed until midnight tonight 30 6 10 after midnight it must displaya valid tax disc in a public road/place or be declared sorn until disc is renewed, you have up to 14 days to buy a disc but in that time car must be kept of road so i asked in a nutshell im able to use car legally today till midnight and buy a tx disc at local post office branch tomorrow reply is yes and thats from gareth at dvla swansea
The 5 working days allowed without prosecution for not displaying a tax disc only applies when the disc was bought online and has yet to be delivered.
your tax disc expires at midnight on the last day of the month. Therefore you need another from midnight tonight.
There is no such thing as having a grace period, you can apply online or at post office 14 days in advance, online it says allow 5 working days to receive it ,at post office its immediate.
it is silly to leave it till last moment as thats why you get your reminder at least 14 days prior to it expiring.
Also it is an offence to not display a current car tax disc even if you do have one
There is no grace period - this has been discussed on here before.
by the way yes you can use it till midnight tonight but then you must not drive it again on a public highway until you have a valid tax disc.so if you are going to tax it tomorrow you cannot drive it after midnight today till you put your new disc in car
If you have bought a tax disc online you do get 5 days for it to arrive, it was in writing in a leaflet sent out with the renewals last year. This was an official leaflet direct from the DVLA.
Indeed, there is a 5 day grace period if you renew online before your current tax expires. The quote from the DVLA website is as follows:

"When you apply for a tax disc online or by using our phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives".
