The Good Curry Guide names only one restaurant in Colchester - Sagarmatha Gurkha, 2 Botolphs Circus CO2 7EF .

Doesn't say anything about romance ....

Don't go to the Sagarmatha Gurka, it's definitely not romantic!

The Raj on North Hill is a nice one.

If you can get to Manningtree nr Colchester, I would def recommend the Mogul.  Great food and atmos.
