The Tory/Lib Dem Coalition are about to announce radical plans to overhaul the welfare benefits system. (Link 1).

Heavily involved in slashing/discontinuing these will be Work Minister, Chris Grayling (Link 2: see "Expenses").

Why should people have their already approved benefits taken away by someone like Grayling who is himself damnably tainted with the scandal of the MPs' expenses?
Can we actually be assured that people like this can be trusted to get it right when they have "dipped" so avariciously into the public purse themselves?

A classic case of "Don't do as I do, but as I say"? Dick Turpin would be mightily impressed!

Perhaps becasue they were not checked properly ?

Perhaps becasue Noo labour used disability to hide unemployment

Perhaps becasue people are on disability becasue they are fat

Perhaps because people are not working because they have headaches

and of course, the main reason the welfare buget is rediculous.

Tighrten it up and those genuinley needing assisance will not be treated like skiving scum as current portrayed due to the many on the sick who are not.
The welfare budget is our largest area of expense, it's entirely logical that the government should look for savings here. It doesn't matter who overseas the process as most of the work will be done by the mandarins in the background. As YMB says there are too many underserved cases getting free money.
All governments try to hide unemployment by giving it different names and Labour brought to a fine art. We all know of people who have not worked for years.
We fill our universities with youngsters who shouldn't be there, taking micky mouse degrees but should instead be taking apprentiships which would lead to gainful employment. For years if you were off sick for six months you were put on incapacity bebefit and largely forgotten about. Anyone over 50 who lost their job was encouraged to go sick . Anything to keep the official unemployment figures down .
Both Tories and Labour are to blame and now we are paying the cost .
