Osteopenia - no medication

I recently had a scan for osteoporosis. The technician showed me the results and I was clearly in the orange zone which is a sign of osteopenia. However having had my results at the doctors, apparently the consultant has said that it is normal.
I am a bit worried as I would have thought that prevention was better than cure and if I had some sort of medication I could stave off osteoporosis. Has anyone had something similar?
All advice welcome - thanks

I actually have osteoporosis in my spine and on my last dexa scan osteopenia in my hip joint.
The link is showing chewable tabs. I actually take the ones you swallow -I find the chewable ones upset my stomach.
i have osteopaenia. The onl recommended "treatment" for me was increasing calcium in diet
My doctor put me on Androlic Acid for osteopenia, which is what is used for osteoporosis. That was as a precaution against osteoporosis. Unfortunately it gave me awful indigestion and I just take calcium instead now (on prescription from the doctor)
