We were there in September last year and had no problems, though most of our time was spent on tour inland, rather than in the coastal resorts.
I would buy a local citrus repellant rather than use UK bought ones as the local ones are more effective.
Marmite or yeast extract, or Vitamin B complex taken in the 2 weeks prior to travel can help repel them too.

Eating the local yoghurt and honey will give added protection against tummy bugs and pollen allergies.

Have a good trip. :-)
Take a few bottles of this to deter the mossies:-

It does work, I've used it for years when abroad.
agree with fadeout, it's brilliant stuff. Do check with your GP practice nurse though - we've just come back from Morocco and as long as you stay in certain areas the risk is low, but inland and in the desert areas it can be a problem. Take the Avon stuff, take some antihistamine tabs just in case, and buy a stick of After Bite - that's what I do, if there is a mozzie about it will find me!
been twice may and november never had a prob but i use the avon sss oil.
ps beware the carpet factories been stung there. they keep you for hours trying to sell and get very aggresive if you dont. also beware the medina market in port el kantoui pickpockets. other than that is a great holiday hotels are realy lux and food realy good. stayed hb at royal kenz and ai riu belvue
