We found three eggs on the ground in the garden. About 45mm long (Smaller than a chickens egg) and almost olive green with no speckles. Any ideas which species laid them? I think they had been predated by a crow.

As 4getmenot says crows, and in particular Jays are a possibility, but both have speckles.
My fancy is that they are Mallard eggs
