I finally got my husband to sign up with internet banking & after setting him up, was advised to install Rapport software (have never heard of this before & I have had internet banking for years). On HSBC advice I installed it & each Monday I receive a Rapport 'report'. This week when the report came through, it disabled my security software Avira AntiVir. I was told it would run along other anti virus software so now confused. Should I do you think uninstall Rapport? thanks for any suggestions

I would ... at least until they sort it out.
In the interim .. complain to Natwest.
Keep Avira ...
So long as you are connecting to bank site by https (padlocked) and PC is clean, you are unlikely to have problems. : )

thats just what I thought so will get rid of rapport & inform the bank to see if they can shed an light on why this happened. Yes, I always make sure site is https (padlocked). I have been using internet banking for my bank for many years without a hitch & its only since I done this HSBC one for my husband that I've had this problem. As you said, as long as the PC is clean there's no worries. Think many people get probs when they receive those spam emails purporting to be from their banks & click on links etc & of course you have to be on your toes with these things - they would certainly not catch me out like that! thanks so much for your reply
Same here, really. No probs anyways.
I think some banks will "dress up" this service later on and find another new way to rob us even more.
Watch this space : )
I have been using Rapport for some time now with only one problem. It causes text to disappear in my Generations Family Tree software. I have to disable Rapport when updating the genealogy software and re-enable it afterwards.

It runs with Avast anti virus with no bother. You can enable Rapport to run with any website where you enter personal details. Any addition to on line security has to be a good thing.
