hi, I have a Phillips HD Ready tv with built in Freeview, I have been told that HD channels are broadcasting in my area, but when I retune there are no HD channels showing !
Can anyone help ? Thanks

Look in your TV Guide at the various programmes and you can see which are HD in heavy print with the channel number next to it, also sometimes a notice will say "This programme is also in HD" followed by the channel number. hth`s
The irony is that you will need a HD Freeview Digital Box in order for you to receive the limited programmes in HD. I have a Sony HD ready TV with inbuilt Freeview but in order to receive Freeview HD Channels I would need to purchase another Digi Box !

Thanks, Redman, you've got it in one, Rip off ! Heres me buying a new Freeview telly with HD plastered on it, and you have to buy a box to recieve the HD channels !
hd means its ready to accept an hd signal
youve not been ripped off you could have looked it up on google or asked in the store you got it from about hd tv reception as you need as satellite dish for it

Deggers, not been ripped off, but you've got to admit its very misleading, a freeview hd telly, the telly is HD but not the freeview !
