I have just bought a second hand laptop. It is a HP nc6000 with XP professional and an antivirus/spam/spyware etc package. I had problems at the very start (after i went on the web) with a couple of viruses but they have now been dealt with and all checks say that the computer is clean.

The problem i have now is that the laptop will just freeze up randomly and will not allow me to use any icons or anything else and i have to turn it off manually...sometimes this doesnt even work and i have to do it couple of times.

i have updated windows and dont know what else to do!

please help!
