This is disgusting why haven't this family been identified? They are a disgrace to Britain.

How do they they manage in this country, no hotel, bar, cafe or any other establishment would adhere to their racist requests.

It was said “The Ritz-Carlton has policies in place prohibiting discrimination and harassment and takes very seriously all allegations of discrimination and harassment.”

It would appear not since their requests where entered on the Hotel's computer system.

IF you read my answer properly ummm, I never mentioned him losing his job.

Concentration is all it takes before you answer.
Do you believe everything, word for word, that you read in the papers?

It's you making assumptions not me....

Anti depressants....give me a break. If every person form a ethnic minority needed anti depressants everytime they heard a racist remark....Jeez.

Better make sure Alf Garnet (can't remember the name) is never shown on TV again. Our surgeries will be flooded with people with hurt feelings needing drugs to overcome it...
may as well write the whole thread off if we dont believe what's printed.

I hope Rodney ? get's his just desserts at the airport ;)

I would go for maximum compensation in the same situ......it's ignorance of Rodney Morgan & the hotel.

The poor waiter may have a wife & family depending on his income.

*sigh* by saying that you are saying that they haven't got his income to rely on. I wasn't the only one who commented on your post.
looking for back-up, ummmm.

you started it & others followed - grow up!
I think you'll find that Naomi commented first....try reading it again.

You do make yourself look like an idiot quite alot.
I read this article yesterday and commented to my oh that I didn't believe the story as told by the waiter. I did not follow ummmm in the way you seem to think and nor did anyone else that I can ascertain.

In the circumstances i can't believe some of the answers, I have been lynched in my absence for saying much less.

I can imagine the abuse I would have suffered if I had chosen to approach this news story differently, that is by saying what most of you have said, that the waiter was making the whole thing up.
And the sad thing is AOG....it's true, you would have lynched.

I don't believe he was upset . He must have had hundreds remarks of a similar manner during his life . That doesn't excuse it but it's life.
The family and the hotel should be heavily fined.
I assume the family starved during their stay in the hotel as everyone would have an American accent. Even if they employed only English waiters they would still have problems as there are more than a hundred recognisable English accents and if you include the Scots, Irish and the Welsh you can double that number.
I think this story has the whiff of nonsense about it.

We are asked to believe that a British (presumably Caucasian) family travel outside of their beloved, exclusively white, country and then request in their presumably flawlessly plumb-British accents, that they are not be served by 'some Jonny foreigner with dark skin or some bally fool who can't speak the Queen's English properly, what?'.

I actually find this quite hard to believe - unless Prince Philip has recently been to the USA.

If this story is true then quite frankly, the British individuals in question are morons and should have their passports confiscated lest they travel and are offended again by the horrors of living in this thing that the rest of us call 'reality'.

But I suspect that this story is not entirely true and is a rather clumsy attempt at a stitch-up.
quite....birdie; hope USA docks their passports & refuses them entry. I dont think those with plum accents would be so ignorant.
yeah you would think the hotel would have stayed loyal to their member of staff that had been working for them for 15 years. seeing as it says family, I'm assuming there are kids involved. their the ones i feel sorry for, been brought up with such prejudice drummed into their heads :\
"their beloved, exclusively white, country "

where would that be ?
Bazwillrun - I was being ironic...
