Hyacinths, outside in a pot, now 'gone over' and look unsightly, so when best to 'dehead' the blloom?...now or when properly 'dead'? Ta Muchly.

Now, and let the bulb dry off before removing dead leaves.

Many Thanks Carlton, I'll pass on your info to the person in need!
leave the stem as this helps feed the bulb.just remove the flowers by running your hand up the stem.
Leave them whole to die back as the growth is nourishment for the bulb.
I try to leave the plant intact and let it die back naturally as much as possible to preserve the bulb's strength for next year. If it looks too ugly, snip the flower head off and leave the leaves to die back.
