Hi Ed, seeing as us loyal AB'ers spend so much time on here, do you think the Management would subsidise free eye tests for one & all? ;o}

If I could see the keyboard it would help enormously smudge, I have to type from memory.

However, I can stillread women like a book.

I use the braille method.

Hi all,

Heavens. If I have to type wearing a tri-focal / contact lens combo, why shouldn't you?

He, He, landie & Ed!

I've been using computers for donkeys years & have gone from perfect eyesight, to magnifiers, then bifocals, now varifocals - trendy ones of course!

I've tried to put contact lenses in at the opticians, but was too scared!  How do you all manage to get them in your eyes?

smudge You dont even feel them once they're in (oh er missus)  the contacts that is, honestly I wouldnt be without mine now

Thanks mycatis, I really hate wearing glasses with a passion. It's such a bind putting them down then searching round for them - but I usually find them on top of my head!

I've been back to the op's twice now & got so close to putting 'them' in, but chickened out.

I can watch the goriest real life medical programmes, but when it comes to eyes, I'm off! Perhaps I'll pluck up the courage & give it another try then - cheers me dear.

know exactly what you mean smudge. You could saw my leg off with a rusty nail and I wouldn't flinch (much) but the idea of putting something in my eyes......aaarrrrggghhh
I know I feel the exact same jno.  I started wearing glasses for reading a few years ago now smudge and am due a trip back to op soon as I can feel the headaches on the perimeter (good word that) all the time.  A peri meter eh.   Do you have to need glasses all the time for contact lenses.
I was thinking of going for an eye-test, maybe AB will be kind enough to subsidise me...

Smudge, I agree with you. I went snorkelling once, but it was in Gran Canaria, and the safety cover was appalling.
