Ok,folks, after your reassurances about my mad cat playing chase, he has a new obsession - the kitchen tap. I can't prise him away from the sink half the time, he just sits staring at the tap. If he isn't already perched there he comes flying in when I turn the tap on. Anyone else's cat do this or is mine just getting more eccentric by the day?

Mine puts his head in my slipper and then pushes it round the room !!!
I have had two mad cats so far, nothing surprises me. He's possibly a bit bored and full of life and just playing and has a thing about taps at the moment. As long as he isn't leaping at you and taking lumps out of your skin with his claws like mine does, count yourself lucky !
Rocky sits in the bathroom sink watching the dripping tap, he likes to drink from it too, lets it all drop on his nose bounce into the sink and licks it up. he does have a bowl of water by his food too, so he is not thirsty.
hes probably wanting to drink from it and is waiting for drips.

a lot of cats prefer running water.

we have a water fountain for our cats to drink from, they much prefer it to a bowl
I had a cat that followed me everywhere I went. She even use to run after my car even though I lived on a main road..!!

My current cat licks me around my boob area. He does this about three times a day....

(not my actual boobs I must add...that woulds be too weird)

Now that the sun is out have you tried the CD game?

Take a CD and boucne the reflection off the walls. Cats seems to love chasing the reflected light. If you're lazy you can string the CD onto your lightshade and spin it round. If you shine the light on the ceiling you might hear their 'death cackle'.
Mine used to make that 'I,m going to get you sound at low flying helicopters ..... and would watch wimbledon on TV for ages occasionally swatting at the ball on screen My latest is more restrained....but all cats seem to have mad moments and obsessions. another of mine used to scramble up the cutains and perch on the pelmet and another used to empty out pot pourri piece by piece and leave it all over the house

Well, that certainly makes me feel better! He doesn't want todrink from the tap. He waits until it's been turned off, then he paddles in the wet sink.
Mine wants me to pour him a glass of water.......
mine likes to get in the bathroom sink and drink from the tap
Mine waits for me to have a wee and flush.....then he has a drink...
Try him with the ring from the top of the milk to see if he fetches - one of mine does that
One of my cats loves taps too and has jumped into a full bath on more than one occasion. Rowanwitch - you just reminded me about my old cat. She loved to watch the snooker and would sit directly in front of the tv and chase the balls across the screen. Eventually she'd fall asleep but the minute I changed the channel she'd wake up and glare at me till I changed it back :)
Not a cat expert but I think cats are creatures of habit and learn behavioural traits. They`re very intelligent and once they learn something they don`t forget it. My mum`s cat goes to bed every night when she does, but before the cat goes off to her own room (!) she pesters my mum to open the airing-cupboard door so she can look in. She doesn`t do anything - just looks in because it has become part of her routine. They`re so entertaining!

My cat used to play fetch with the teat off a baby's bottle
