my son has bought a clio dynamique 2003, it is his first car and he is learning to drive, every time it rains the water gets in above both doors and the floor on both sides gets soaking wet.
has anyone had the same problems, if so what is the cause and is it easily remedied?

thanks

My granddaughters Clio was leaking and a guy at Auto Glass said it could be the drain holes were blocked in the sunroof, as there were no drain-holes in this particular model i had a good look and it turned out to be the seal in between the roof and the sunroof frame, i scraped the old one away and replaced it with silicone sealant made sure all the bolts were tight and...

Sounds to me like you need new door seals
Apart from what has been stated, are the doors in-line? my thoughts behind this, has the car doors been blown around by the wind causing them not to seal right, check around the Hinges are there signs that the car has been re-sprayed? Just a thought.

dont think it has been re sprayed and the doors seem in line. however the external rubber seal on one door and partly on the windscreen is out of shape as if it has been tampered with. made a few enquiries today with autoglass and a body shop firm and both say that the external rubber seal is only superficial and should not let in water. my initial thoughts was that these faulty rubber seals was the cause. they also suggest that the sunroof could be the cause.
any other views would be appreciated.
The problem is most likely under the bonnet. In the area where the wiper motor sits there is usually a rubber drain hole to allow rainwater to drain away. These regularly get blocked with leaves and other rubbish. Clean this out and make sure it's draining properly and you should have no more problems.
water leaks can be difficult to locate, its usually the outer weatherstrip or the w/screen seal...garages actually stick some one in the car and put a hose or pressure washer on it and hopefully find it

thanks for your replies so far, i took the car to a body shop repair garage today and the fella reckon its probably the sun roofs drainage pipes that my be blocked with leaves/ dirt etc, so it is booked in for friday and he is goin to run a hose pipe over the car to see exactly where it is leaking by. i hope this does the trick.
