Hi once again Shrubbery Gang and Merry Linkers.

We've had Strix the Bibliophile
and Strix the Sylviculturist.
Where is he growing next?
Have Paulineward's threats to quit brought him down to earth? (or was it the jesses that I fitted last week?)
Have we backed him into a corner and walled him in?

Find out tomorrow morning at 8:45 here in Q & P when Strix the Unfathomable moults his feathers to reveal yet another side to his character - but what side that will be, I am not at liberty to divulge.

After that preamble (teaser) to the MM Links game is posted at 9:45, the shrubbery gates will be opened at 9:00 sharp and the rush for points will begin. At this half-way stage of the game with 5 joint leaders on just 4 points, the crown is wide open to anyone. "It could even be YOU".

I'm hoping the game will pick up and earn you all a lorra lorra points. It would be a disaster if it went **** over **** and you were all cream-crackered trying to change a trickle of points into a veritable beano of scores to keep a roof over all your heads for the coming week.
Are you up for it?
Who will be celebrating on Sunday?
Why am I waffling on like a demented owl?
All will be revealed on Saturday morning and Sunday evening when I will (hopefully) be soberenough to score the game.
What's your excuse?

Watch out for the teased out launch of the MM Links Game at 8:45, 8:50 and 8:55 tomorrow morning and then the links will appear at 9 am and the shrubbery will empty within a matter of minutes.

Of course, you should also look out for the exciting, high-scoring international version of this same game, which is called KM Links and kicks off at a much earlier hour but there is nothing to be gained in that game by playing early - the timing of your KM posting is deemed to be irrelevant. The more hits you are able to register, the more points you score. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz” (aka Steff) who cheerfully does a sterling job week after week.

Now why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards. This is now the mid-point of the month and yet still there is everything to play for (Is that OK this week Aquagility?). Who will get a 'mention' for being high on the leader-board? Who will be the 'Hotshot of the week'?

Watch for tomorrow's posts and find out.

Evening all...well I did so badly last week, that I said I would have a lie in for a change tomorrow! I think I will be doing now anyway...our daughters were due in at manchester Airport from holiday, at 11-10 pm...the flight is now landing at 1am!
We of course are going to collect them, so I will not be in a rush to get up!
Will be up bright and early
both of us at work
I am still collecting for sport relief
so hope to get some points too before I start
Isn't Red Nose day around now?...or am I mistaken. Or has sport relief replaced it?
Pauline, red nose or comic relief is every 2 years. the year in between is sports relief
ie now it is on BBC 1 at the moment the big sports relief mile is on sunday at various places round the country,
think you will be too late to buy socks they have all sold out
Ahhh...I thought the logo looked the same. Think I will live without the socks!
not getting the Beckham T shirt either pauline????
I shall have to go in and have a look tomorrow Jan. Are they not selling a sport relief wine? :-))
you wish Pauline
there is 25% off if you buy 6 bottles, notice I said Buy not drink!!!!!!
Must try to be around at 0900 tomorrow, so I'll drag my creaking old bones off to bed. Don't stay out girls - and don't encourage those boys, they don't need it.
I have to stay up to go with Reg to collect the girls, well don't have to but want to. So I will keep the boys under control...if any of them turn up.
Any daffodils in the shrubbery yet? I'm beginning to think I might put away the mulled wine, but there's still a long way to go begore the chilled rosé!
'begore'? I may have an Irish surname, but I really meant 'before'...
been quite pleasant here today, rain now though
will settle for normal red not mulled just room temperature
No daffodils out yet! Mind you I have found that any I have bought seem to have lasted in the house much longer than they normally do. Maybe it's just my imagination. Lots of bulbs out..just not much colour yet! Everything is late, and a lot of our plants/bushes seem dead. Hope it's just because of the weather.

It is still a bit cold for chilled wine! :-)
Maybe we'll need large quantities of chilled rosé in the summer. The rooks are building their nests very high in the treetops here this year; country tradition says that's the sign of a good summer to come.
I am going to keep you to that tearinghair! I really hope so. Anything forecast must be an improvement on the weather centre! Let's hope we have other natural signs of a good summer.
I will still drink the chilled wine! :-))
Good evening all.
Raining here but it has been spring - like earlier in the week, like you i am hoping for a decent summer this year.
Well we are due a gud'un! The last few years have been awful.
I blame it on my neighbours building a new patio BBQ area. It's been awful ever since. Think I will go and sabotage it. :-))
See you all some time tomorrow...will be off to airport soon.
I probably won't be up early!
