My mum was admitted to hospital today, and her cat (who is very attached to her) is driving my dad mad. He won't stop meowing for my mum and has been like this all day. I've suggested my dad put something of my mum's in the cat's bed so he can smell her, and I have a feliway spray I can drop off to him tomorrow, but failing that I'm at a loss as to what to do. We don't know how long she'll be in hospital and the cat just ignores my dad - even if he puts the cat's food out, Garp will still keep pestering my mum till she feeds him. If my mum tries to have a long lie, Garp jumps onto her bedside table and knocks everything down so she'll get up. My dad has enough on his plate without having to deal with this right now so any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

I think the things you've tried / are about to try are right, but if they don't work, you could contact the vet for some anti-anxiety medication.
