My Daughter is selling her scooter. The insurance has lapsed as she has now passed her driving test and drives in comfort these days! (Yes, her car is insured!) I take it that the prospective purchaser will want to test drive it, besides the risk of them taking off with it, what should we do in situations like this? Do we let them test drive it, do we have a right to say that they cant and that my daughter will drive it up and down the drive, or what?? Any advise would be appreciated.

Anyone coming to buy it could say they have insurance, your daughter could be charged for allowing an uninsured person drive her scooter. Don't do it.
only let them drive it if they can prove their identity and show you insurance
One way to ensure they come back is to insist they leave their driving licence with you.
When I've sold bikes in the past, I always insist they leave me their car keys and car.
That doesn't always work flip_flop.

What if the car is nicked?
