I opened my Realtek HD Audio Manager, dont know what happened but now it sounds like the music and voices have speeded up, slightly higher pitched and a bit of "slap-back" reverb, How do I normalise things again? Never liked Pinky and Perky anyway ! Any help realy appreciated.

Are you sure you have no DSP sound effect set in the options or from system tray icon (if one is used)?
Creative software can do this and create the sound you describe.

DSP is that Device Settings Protocol?
I dont know where to find it , I'm a dunce with all this stuff, I appreciate your response though! - I wonder if I should restore to the day b4 last night and if that'll fix it, no harm in trying , thanx again :)
Yes Realtek has all that. Just go to the driver and select none from all the sound effect options.
If you have this sound card and do not have a decent 5:1 speaker setup you are really missing out!

I've chosen <none> from the effects and <none> in the equalizer, still sounds the same, strangely fast and compressed. speaker default is stereo. The default format however, - looks like a long list of options and choices there I dont know if ive got that set right. Then theres that Osd thing, optional 1 to 5 seccond delay, and/or disable can that have anybearing on sound reproduction?

all the fx in Realtek perform as named, stadium, padded cell, room etc., but i have <none> chosen, however the sound is still playing back (on youtube for e.g.) a bit fast and higher registrer tonaly- is it an idea to uninstall realtek driver and renew it?
Seems like a good option!

eurica ! had a look in properties for (realtek) and under the advanced tab found a box checked to enable pitch. unchecked it and it was problem solved, things are now at the normal pitch. strangely i can find no trace of pitch options amongst the effects on offer or anywhere else in realtek when i open it. but its fixed at last and i hope,-though its hardly likely, - that this will help anyone with the prob. i had.
Thanx everyone !
