Product Keye Error

I bought a wee netbook yesterday and the Windows 7 product key is clear on the sticker underneath, however when i enter it in when prompted it says its incorrect, have tried till Im now annoyed, is there a way around this please? any suggestions? its a proper copy just doesnt take the number.

Ye olde product keye :)

There is not a way round it really, anything that may work in the short term would almost certainly cause you problems with the windows validation and updates in the future.

Take it back to where it came from.

Hi Chuck, thanks, I wouldnt think Argos would be interested would they?
They tried to con me out of £30 yesterday too the buggas. I cant even register the product as all the numbers seem incorrect.
Its an 'msi wind U130' had good reviews.
Im not impressed.

Just take it back and say it's not fit for purpose and get your money back,they are quite good like that.

ooh thats a bit heavey handed when it functions ok, just the product key im asking about

Two possibilities:
a) Your fingers are too big for the small keyboard and you are constantly mistyping the product key (take it back as unfit for purpose)
b) You are mistaking/confusing O/0 or I/1

lol im a wee lassie with wee fingers and have checked the code 6 times now.

I would have expected the product key to have already been entered - are you sure it's not asking for the Activation key?
