We have to get my sons Peugeot 306 Diesel to its final resting place its going in on the scrappage scheme to the garage around 12 miles away without a functioning alternator the question is will it make it there on a fully charged battery it will be in daytime so won't be needing lights or had we better take a tow rope along just in case?

Bring the battery in overnight and charge it up fully and it should be fine, you wouldn't happen to have the plastic surround for the back off side passenger inside door handle going spare would you?

Sorry Dot its a 2 door
it should be ok as long as the batterys got plenty of charge in it
I may be wrong, but I thought that a vehicle being taken in as part of the scrappage scheme, had to be mechanically sound.
MOT needed, that's all.
