I am running windows xp. In the last few days internet connections keep failing. At this time all other attempts to use stored programmes slow almost to a halt.
Usual disc frags and cleanups have been performed. Thank you for any advice you can give, or it's off to the repair place.

I have Piriform CCleaner (Free download) . Microsoft security essentials, Malewarebytes,
You can also do a Disk clean-up. Go to My Computer, right Clk, Local disc C Clk Properties,Clk Tools ,Clk Check now, Tick both boxes, Clk start, Clk yes. On re-start-up the program can take up to an hour or more.
