Why don't motorists flash waiting pedestrians about 100 yds in advance?
Then a) the pedestrian doesn't have to wait and see if the driver is going to stop and b) the motorist doesn't have to slow down.

magicmerlin you dont need a submachine gun in a car
cos the car is a lethal weapon in its own right
all you need to do is wait till theres a crowd on the crossing and get them all in one go
lol:-)
As far as I was aware, the pedestrian has priority on a zebra crossing. It's not up to the motorists to 'allow' a pedestrian to cross. A motorist 'has' to stop if a pedestrian wishes to cross.

Though, that said, it seems some motorists don't even want to slow down!

(Do you wish you'd never asked now?!)
