When I woke Up this morning, I discovered we had three ladybirds in our bedrooms and bathroom. Is there such a thing as a nest of ladybirds? If not what are they attracted to?

nest probably. In '83 we had plagues of ladybirds, eastcoast UK; thousands cramming and sprawling on walls, fences, windows, the ground. Horrendous - get some salt, they're attracted to getting away from it. At least it's not scorpions!
Ladybirds do find places to hide during the winter (I think they hibernate, but I'm not sure). One place I lived had a draughty door, so we had tape around it. When we pulled it away in the spring there were thousands of them underneath, so I'd guess that they've found somewhere warm and dark.
Talking of East Coast ladybirds (rathervthanyour question, sorry!) the name for them in Norfolk in 'bushy barnaby'. Isn't that lovely?
