Hi, Just bought a Sony40W5810 ,full HD with freeview and freesat combined..(wife don't like it) We also watch Sky. The problem...I connect the sky aeriel to the skybox (old one) and then via scart to the tv...I can get Sky, but cannot get Freesat, although I,ve been told it will work perfectly well with the sky dish....Do I need other connections or something? Also I used auto set-up but cannot get ITV 1 or hardly any freeview channels on digital...Any ideas?? Thanks in advance, John

I have the Sony 40W4000 1080 HD Model with inbuilt Freeview, but do not use this facility as I have recently upgraded my Sky to Sky+.
Is Freesat built into yours ? In your case the Dish would have been connected directly to your TV via Aerial input for Freesat which is not the case with the Sky Digi Box as the output from Sky Digi Box enters TV via the Scart Lead.
You should still be able to get the Freeview Channels in full if you switch Off Sky Box and access Freeview facility.
To get freesat you need to connect the sky "dish" to the back of the TV, not the sky box!

If you want to use both at the same time you will need a second cable run from the sky dish to the TV and the LNB on the dish (the bit on the end of the pole that sticks out the dish) will need to be changed to one that can provide more than one feed.
