MP4 movies can't be played on Windows Media Player 11

I have taken several movies with my mobile phone (Sony Ericsson W995). The movie format is MP4. However, Windows Media Player version 11 that I have on my laptop can't play these movies (after I downloaded them onto the laptop).

Would you please help me solve this problem?

Download VLC or Quicktime players to run MP4 packets

why not just download the mp4 codec so you can play it in media player and you dont have to do any converting at all

just download the codec and install it then play your video in media player

They play on my WMP. If you get a pop-up saying it does'nt recognise.mp4s, just click on yes to play them. Otherwise take a look on their website where you will get some help.
