Now that the summer weather is well and truly here, I've bought myself a blender with a view to making fruit smoothies.
Does anyone have any good recipies or recommendations?

Try a banana, a handful of blueberries, some rasps or strawbs, ice, some runny honey and some oatmeal. Add either some sort of juce (orange, cranberry etc etc) or some Red Bull, depending od how much of a kick you want, then blitz. Great for breakfast.

I have found there is no science to it. Keep a bag of ice in the freezer, some juice in the fridge, then buy whatever fruit takes your fancy. However, I always find a banana helps thicken it up & generally taste better.

I dont know where you are located but if you can find Frappe Freeze in your local market then I suggest you purchase the product. It has a variety of different smoothie mixes and they all taste absolutely delicious.

The above recipe sounds delicious. But instead of adding ice, try adding ice cream into the mixture.

1 part banana, 1 part strawberrys, 3 parts vodka and 5 parts red bull ( banana and strawberry's optional! )
I use thawed out mixed summer berries, blueberries, bit of apple, orange and cranberry juice.  Delish
I just buy the "innocent" variety. On offer in Morrisons (Safeway) at the moment at 1.99 per litre but normal price will be 2.99. Each litre of strawberries and bananas smoothie contains 10 apples, 27 strawberries, 2 1/2 bananas, freshly squeed orange juice and nothing else. I think they are good vslue for money and they are delicious. Other varieties also available.
