I have been married for 5 months and 3 weeks ago my husband walked out. We are now seperated but cant get officially divorced for another 7 months.

I have changed my banks accounts and other bits back to my maiden name with no issues but on the driving licence change of name form it says i have to provide proof of my change of name, obviously I dont have one and I dont plan to use deed poll as from what i understand I am still legally allowed to use my birth name and didnt have to take my husbands name in the 1st place.

What can i do as I neded to get my own car etc.

maybe send copies of bank statements? Or your birth certificate to prove your name is xxxx
you don't need your maiden name on your driving licence to get your own car
send a copy of your birth certificate and marriage certificate and explain why you wish to return to your maiden name
