Dilemma Warming Up Bedroom!

Hi all, we have a fairly large size bedroom with 2 windows that has the old style double-glazing and we get really bad draught!!!! Under one of the windows, there is a radiator, (single not double).

We've tried about everything trying to find a way to warm this room up and maintain the heat! We've tried draught excluders for the windows and have even recently bought lined curtains to keep the draught out!

The property is a council one and they have said that the radiator in our room is sufficient for our bedroom as we've requested if we could change our bedroom radiator with the dining/ kitchen double radiator as it always lovely and warm. But the council said no and that we should use other means!!!

Are heater panels or oil-filled radiators going to make any difference to our situation or are they expensive and a waste of time?

Any info or advice would be really appreciated, thank you.

What do you mean by 'old style double glazing'?
Oops sorry I saw the title and thought you meant something else....
Any electric heater will be quite expensive. Can you find where the draught is coming from? Is there a gap under the windowsill? or between the frame and wall. If so use some sealant to block it up
Jeez, saw this in the 'latest posts' thing and thought it was something else...

May wanna check your wording in future, Sonak - it appears there's more than a few dirty minds on AB :P
