I have a 2nd hand Zanussi freezone low energy freezer which came with the house. I small drawer and three larger ones. It had been switched off for two months so have just given it a thorough scrubbing out before using it. When I switched it on the green power light illuminated plus an intermittent, regular beeping noise and a red light flashes in time to the beeps. Is this telling me the freezer is not yet cold enough to use or is maybe something wrong? One of the drawers has a thermometer on it, I assume this one goes on the bottom? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My freezer is a different model but it has a light and alarm to warn me when it isn't the correct temperature (eg power cut). Some also do this when the door is left open. I would leave it plugged in a few hours until it should reasonably be cold and see if the alarm stops. Many, many thanks - will try your suggestions. Go well
My thought about the drawer with the thermometer would be to leave it at the top. Bushbay_de is right about the bottom of the freezer being the coldest part, but if you want to check that even the top of the cabinet is cold enough, put it there. If that's OK the bottom part would also be.
