My son is going to Australia this weekend to visit his friend. He's quite well travelled but this will be the first long haul flight on his own. Any tips anyone?

Well at least your answer makes sense TTG. I just wondered if anyone had flown to Oz recently cos I went to Canada a few years ago and although we stopped at Calgary we were not allowed off the plane ---very uncomfortable journey
Take his own earplugs and eye-mask and some noise cancelling ear phones with adapters so he can actually get some sleep on there... and to buy some bottles of water once he passes security at the airport as it can be slow to get drinks and he will need to keep well hydrated
