I want to take an LCD TV from UK to Bulgaria, and pack it (carefully & securely!) in my hold luggage. Would this be allowed on an aircraft? After all, it is little different to a laptop in my eyes. Thanks.

There is no reason why you can't pack an LCD TV in your hold luggage but a UK TV won't work in Bulgaria. The UK uses the PAL(I) broadcasting system. Bulgaria uses SECAM (D). The two systems are not compatible.

Thanks Chris, but I was more concerned about the airlines statement that 'no electronic devices' to be carried in the hold. The region I'll be going to uses PAL (so I'm told - let's hope its PAL(I) !)
Hi cazzle

I've sent you a link with items that are generally considered dangerous to fly in luggage hold on plane........but i would check with the airline you're going to Bulgaria with, just to clarify if ok.
