Can anyone suggest an appropriate hymn for the cremation service of an old man who loved gardening and his dogs please? Something most people know the tune to and which is necessarily not too long(or can be shortened) if possible. Apart from 'All things bright and beautiful.

One of the lovliest hyms that fits your requirements maight be"All Creatures of Our God and King" which is believed to be a translation of words by St.Francis of Assisi.

has both words and music ,although it might seem long, the verses are short.
It;s also quite well known (and easy to sing).

I've just realised Emily you've posted this in the AB Editor's Blog. You may get more answers if you put it in, perhaps Body & Soul.
Emily,
I have cut and pasted this into Body & Soul (as per Jan's suggestion) for you.
This popular version of All things bright & beautiful.....sung loudly, could wake the dead ;c)
