HELLO I FEED A FEW WILD FOXES AT NIGHT WITH OUR SCRAPS OF FOOD EGGS ETC I PUT A TRAY ON TO MY LAWN AWAY FROM THE HOUSE ALL A SUDDEN FOX HAS STARTED TO DEFICATE BY MY BACK DOOR CAN ANY ONE TELL ME THE REASON FOR THIS BEHAVIOUR THANK YOU KATHY

Because you leave regular food out for them they are marking THIER territory and leaving a warning for any other foxes that snoop about.... We have foxes at my school, I can see them on the cameras, It is one of those situations that have to be put up with if you want to enjoy the company of wildlife. Try putting a tray of soil in the place where they are doing it.......

Try putting a tray of soil in the place where they are doing it.... Badgers are also known for this, but they actually have latrines all around thier runs which they visit regularly....

Pete has it bang on.
You(for probably good reasons) have fed the foxes and increased their territory to include your garden.
Now (as Pete says) they are claiming it for their own,and telling others to keep away!
