I know there are a few questions on here about the same subject but I need advice on a different set of circumstances.
My boyfriend passed his driving test in July and his mum tried to get him insurance for a little kangoo van but because he had only just passed, the insurance company it was with wouldn\'t insure him, so she found one that would and changed the insurance company over, it\'s his dads van and he was put on as named driver.

Tonight he got pulled because a cop car with a camera had pinged up that he had no insurance, so he was trying to explain that he did have insurance and his mum on the phone tried to explain that they\'ve paid it and its not run out and the police thought it was all very dodgy and gave him a producer, later on his mum rang him and said the insurance company had put the wrong last letter of the number plate on the insurance and as he\'s not long passed if he gets 6 points wouldn\'t that mean he would lose his license? He lives on his own in an area where you have to drive everywhere unless you want to get a bus where bricks get thrown through the window, so its the first bit of freedom he\'s had and it would seriously kill him if he loses it.

Any advice on what might happen would be appreciated because I'm worried.

If the insurance company made a mistake and they rectify it, and there is an insurance certificate/cover note detailing that he was covered at the time then he is in the clear.

No court is going to convict him given those circumstances.

nope, still says it's not on there, his mums rang up and the insurance company said they're sending a new certificate, what I'm worried about is if it says it's insured from that date or when he got it in the first place, because they paid for it and if he was in an accident, they would have paid out. She rang up the morning of the 23rd I believe , but i don't know how long it takes to go through.
