Many years ago I read a poem about comparing babies. I thought it was Pam Ayers but am not sure now. I know it had the phrase something similar to " when i look at yours I don't know why you bothered" as a response to a very boastful mother . Can anyone helps please?

It's ok. I was right Pam Ayres . Poem was called Wayne.

Why you bothered to have one at all.

Mrs-O A Wayne in a manger was a school inspector's memoirs written by Gervase Phinn a collection of very funny books about the Yorkshire Dales.
