I have two bags of frozen ready cooked mussels given to me as a substitute for prawns in with my shopping!! I love mussels but having never used them before I have no idea what to do with them. I have mushrooms and white wine and garlic, pasta, rice, tomatoes, the usual cupboard staples , has anyone got a recipe that they could share with me? I would be extremely grateful. Many thanks in advance.

Muscles are a bit like prawns... this is how i love them...

butter in a fryingpan
bit of garlic
salt and pepper
stick the muscles in
after few mins add some parsley and some white wine
and you can eat them with rice, pasta (my fav) or in a bowl with bread...

another way to do it is in a tomato sauce which is pretty good too

hope this helps :)

Thank you, sounds delicious, how long do I cook it in the wine?, bearing in mind the mussels are already cooked and I don't want to make them chewy.
If they are already cooked then you just need to reheat them.
i love mussels, and now i live in spain, i eat em weekly. here try this, put a 1/2 ltr of apple juice in a large saucepan with a clove of garlic, cook the mussels in this stiring for 3 mins, and at end add some fresh cream, bloody delicious. and if you want it to be more filling add some noodles
