sloes

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to pick a large batch of sloes in and around Walsall / Wolverhampton ... anyone seen any?

Don't know the area well enough poetrylover, but head out along the country lanes to find the blackthorn bushes/trees. The fruit won't be ready yet - towards the end of next month is the best time, before the frosts start and the birds get them all. Remember to take some tough gloves with you. : )

Lots are ready Ice - and for making gin all you need to do is freeze them for 48 hours and they made perfect gin from 3rd week in August ... have done it for years .... I used to live in Essex though and knew all the best spots, but need some help with where to go for them here.
