Unfortunately, I don't have the time to go to private language lessons, but need to learn a language pronto. Has anyone done a complete language course from Linguaphone? What did you think? How proficient did you end up on completion? It's a bit pricey so I want to be sure before paying for the course... Thanks!!

My husband has bought a RosettaStone package for learning Italian. This is different from linguaphone I think as I think that Linguaphone just teach you speaking and hearing the language whereas RosettaStone uses a CD rom and also has the words written down, so I would guess it depends on whether you just want to speak the language or also be able to read it. Rosetta Stone is also quite expensive though.
Hi, just seeing if this one will post. I gave answer to your question but nothing has come up.
Hi Josh, answerbank seems to be working now. I did a Linguaphone course many years ago and they teach you it all from reading writing and talking. At the end of each lesson you get an answer sheet to complete which you then send off for marking by a tutor. I now have a Spanish course by Michel Thomas which I find good, but it's only for speaking the language. Although I can understand a lot of what's written as he is a good teacher. He does other ones too. I also have the Rosetta Stone course but don't get on with that very well. With language courses I find that you either like them or find them hard going. Some of them are pricey and if you don't get on with them can be waste of money. Have you thought of getting a free one on-line, some of them are good. Just type FREE then the Language you want into google and you may find one you like on there and save some money. Worth a try. Good luck.
