my cat is limping and holds one paw up when stood or sat down. I have checked for lumps, cuts, stings and splinters but there is nothing there! She has been doing this for 2 weeks now and im worried but cant afford to take her to the vets if its something simple. Can anyone help me?

How would you know if it was not something simple? if its been going on for two weeks it is obviously not something simple. You should take her to the vets without hesitation.
I don't wish to be patronising charlie, but I can't believe your poor cat has been limping for two weeks & you haven't looked into some kind of financial assistance from either family or friends to get her treated at the vet.

Pleae look into this, as there may be someone who can help you out. And/or at least phone the vet to ask for advice.

Just thought I'd pop in to ask how your cat is now charlie.

Is she still limping?
Well...... poor pussy should have gone to the vets by now, I have to make sacrifices when my pets are poorly, there are many reasons why your cat may be limping, i have seven cats and when one of my cats was limping i took her to the vets after 4 visits and a lot of x rays later it still showed nothing, conclusion was a deep bone infection, 400 later metacam, and antibiotics given cat is now fine, other cat had a limp for 8 months the vets thought it was a balance related condition....she died 3 months later through FIP,
so GET to the vets and get it checked out
It's not a good thing when a cat has been limping for 2 weeks!

Can you not take it to a charity clinic like the Celia Hammond Animal Trust? They run a vets service and my local one has a cat clinic every Weds and you won't need to pay a huge amount like you might do a regular vets! You will be expected to pay but it might be a good idea to find a local one and give them a call!!
pet insurence is pretty cheap you could always take your cat to the rspca or pdsa they may treat her for nothing look into it but dont leave it to late two weeks to be limping is an awful long time x
If you are on income related benefits, an rspca or pdsa clinic will be able to help you. If you're not on benefits, go to a vet anyway, and then worry about paying them after! You can always write to local animal charities for assistance.

Can you update us on what's happened?
and just to add, whilst I'm sure you wouldn't do this. It's actually illegal to own a pet and not take it to a vet when it requires treatment.
