hi everyone. stupid question but i havent bought a printer in YEARS. I would like one that can also scan and photocopy, even fax if that is possible? how much does one look at paying these days for something like this?
does anybody have a recommendation? I need one that will be reliable for a good couple of years...

it's possible yes, they are called multi function printers, some have fax capabilities some don't.

you can get them for around the �100 mark.

100 huh? that's quite reasonable. Normally I wouldnt need one of these super duper jobs but it seems my job is now going to require me having a fax at home. thought i might as well get the whole shabang while im at it so i dont have to fork out again next year...
If you're going to be doing a lot of black and white text printing, you'd be better off with a laser printer. A little more expensive than inkjets initially, but they're far cheaper in the long run.

I agree with Fo3 (I often do)

lasers are a lot more economical in the long run and mono ones are pretty cheap now.

although a lot of them do not have direct FAX built in, keep in mind that if your computer has a modem then that combined with the scanner means you can still fax, it just involves using your computer as well.
