Since the daily playing of the Radio 4 UK theme of folk melodies each morning before the news at 5.25am ended a few years ago there hasn't been a Radio 4 signature tune as such. The only regular sign off piece which can be heard after midnight before the shipping forecast each night is "Sailing By"
