What ever happened to Ethel, it is good that we have a very good, if not better replacement, I am referring of course to ChuckFickens.

Thanks very much Chuck.

EthFickens .... it's got a certain ring to it .....

as for ethel ... I think she's either extremely pi**ed off with us all, extremely ill ,,, or extremely passed on.
I hope she's pi**ed off at us ... but I suspect that's not the reason...
from other threads on this subject ... I think it's probable that she's sat in a cloud telling the big guy where he went wrong
Since none of us know Ethels reasons nor 'plight' for not contributing to Ab lately, it's unwise to jest at her.

She served us well and was a proven 'best' by Ab awarding only her with an M&S Voucher.
no jest tam ... I like the old trout - and I hope she knew that.

I think she would never take herself as seriously as some others have done in her absence ...
I seem to remember her saying she was 70ish and not particularly well... so If I'm wrong - I think she'd forgive me.

and I do hope I'm wrong

I've been clinically dead more than a couple of times ... seen the light and all that - believe me it's not a serious subject - just the one thing we all ulitmately have in common.

don't get that wrong I'm not jesting at eth - as I said she is deservedly an institution....
I hope that Ethel just got fed up of AB and moved on. The last time I heard from her (a few months ago) she sounded fed up of it. She also sent me a message not long after, simply saying she had "boogered off". Those were her exact words.

Her disappearance has baffled me though, and I have tried, unsucessfully, to check that she is okay (being a lady who lives alone, had spoke of illness and in her seventies).

Unfortunately, all my efforts have proved fruitless. {:o(
I was disappointed when Ethel stopped posting. I doubt if it is in her nature to depart without a goodbye, so I am assuming that the situation was out of her control. Either way she is missed. :-(
