A friend's just phoned to say that she got this message up on her computer, which said that: Key ports and domain network servers are down.

Can yopu please tell me what she can do and what this means? Thanks.

Thanks guys - it's pasta. She's just called with that message, and she's at home on her laptop.
short of pulling the power from her router for a minute to reset it probably not much she can do, that sounds like an ISP problem.

if the error was actually domain name servers are down then it might be worth a go at using different DNS servers

Thanks Chuck, just come in and found your message. I'll pass it on.

Got one of my own now - grrr - I can receive ems through hotmail - but not send any!!! When I click onto "new" or just "reply" or "forward" - nothing's happening?
