Is it acceptable to go to such lengths to make your pet stand out in a crowd?

Or is it callous exploitation of man's best friend?

Do the owners and see if they like it
Whilst I think that the multi-coloured poodle looks cute I don't think it is a good or safe trend,

Why?
Well I wouldnt do it, my OH doesnt even like ours wearing a black waterproof coat!! But there are far worse things they could subject their dogs to.
I'm going to try and make a towelling coat for my mastiff to wear at dog shows. It will be practical though as he normally wear a wet towel on hot days. This coat will have his name and his sponsors names and will tie around his neck and under his girth. Hopefully he will stay cool.
I'm prejudiced; but I think my Max is outstanding in any crowd with out all the coloured crap

ELVIS, I'm just trying to conjure up a picture of some multi coloured humans, hee hee.

wolf, point taken about cuteness, but for whom? Only for the vanity of its owner, surely?

Yes, jules, having a chuckle at the remark about coats. Been there, tried it, and eventually gave up trying! And, yes, there are indeed far worse things done to man's best friend.

thug, also having a quiet chuckle at the visual thought of a roughie toughie mastiff in a towelling coat. I'll bet it's a smart one, though?

paddywak, absolutely right, don't we all think that ours is the bees knees?

Personally, I'd never subject mine to what those in the link have done. I respect their dignity too much.

Err mastiffs aren't roughie toughie. Most are quite timid. I have an outgoing friendly boy but only because I take him out and submit to having him manhandled and cuddled and photographed. As I say, you're never alone with a mastiff.

Yes, thanks, I think I was aware of that but I couldn't help making the remark a la tongue in cheek, hee hee.
