I have just returned from Las Vegas, and can recommend Main Street Station as a place to eat.
They have a buffet - all you can eat for $15 including the 18% cover charge. I only ate there twice (not wanting to return, even more of a porker). On one occasion my meal included 2 T-bone steaks and other, 4 steaks (but no scampi).
The buffet includes a large selection of desserts, soft drinks, tea/coffee etc.
No one seems to be offering any further advice perhaps thats because there is not much other than the hotels on the strip, and the shopping malls, here and there. All hotels/shopping malls, provide free parking. There is also a monorail covering most of the strip.

My visit to Vegas was part of a fly drive tour. I would recommend visiting Hoover dam (circa 30 miles away) an impressive structure. It is not worth paying $15 for the dam tour (to see very little), park at the upper eastern end of the dam to avoid the $7 parking charge. Trucks are not permitted on the dam, and an addition bridge in under construction just south of the dam which may be complete when you visit.

Also worth a visit is Zion National Park, $25 per car (around 160 miles north, not far off the I-15). The Grand Canyon, further at around 280 miles (no really doable in a day), may be worth a visit with an overnight stay. Death Valley is around 120 miles driving distance south west of Vegas.

Check out these suggests on the web to see if they would interest you, before wasting a 2-3 hour drive each way.
